A free sunset hike with real sea fossils underfoot, one of the most rewarding short climbs in the UAE.

About this place

Fossil Rock (Jebel Maleihah) rises out of the red dunes near Mleiha. Its limestone is packed with fossils of sea creatures from when this desert was an ocean floor. The hike up is around 2 to 3 hours return with some scrambling, and the summit has huge views over the dunes, best at sunset.

تسلّق صخرة صحراوية مليئة بأحافير بحرية قديمة.

رحلة مشي مجانية وقت الغروب مع أحافير بحرية حقيقية تحت قدميك، من أجمل رحلات التسلق القصيرة في الإمارات.

يرتفع جبل الأحافير (جبل مليحة) من بين الكثبان الحمراء قرب مليحة، وصخوره الكلسية مليئة بأحافير كائنات بحرية من زمن كانت فيه هذه الصحراء قاع محيط. يستغرق الصعود والنزول نحو ساعتين إلى ثلاث مع بعض التسلق، وتطل القمة على مناظر واسعة للكثبان، أجملها وقت الغروب.
