Why it's worth the trip

Sacks of spices, dried lemons, frankincense and saffron right off the Deira creek: a free, colourful walk into how Dubai traded 100 years ago.

About this place

The Spice Souk is a maze of narrow lanes filled with sacks of spices, herbs, teas, dried flowers and incense. Ask the traders for samples, pick up saffron or za'atar, then walk to the creek for an abra across to Bur Dubai.
